I feel your pain. Well, not literally, I have enough of my own. You know what I mean. I was recently at the ER for a migraine that was not responding to my $36/ea migraine meds, or to the $110/ea migraine shots. I couldn't stop vomiting. I have medication for that, too. (Both the expensive stuff that doesn't work and the cheap stuff that does- usually) Nothing was working. I was sick, hurting, and anxious. Like you, I was nervous that I would be branded a drug-seeker and get nothing. It was tricky this time, I tell you. I had a doctor who had a migraine once and the narcotics made HERS worse. So, that meant that she didn't want to give me anything. What I couldn't figure out how to relay to her without seeming like a pill popper was that I have 19 migraines a month. I limit my medication use as much as I can, because I unknowingly put myself through years of hell by taking too many OTC and prescription medicines for migraines (Excedrin and Imitrex 5-7 days a week). I had to detox for over six months and was cold turkey white-knuckling my pain from the increased migraines for those 6 months. When I go to the ER, the shit has hit the fan. I have taken everything I can take safely, and I need help. In the form of steroids, NSAIDS, antiemetics, and narcotics. It's maybe 3-4 times a year. I don't get prescriptions to take home with me. I was scared to say any of that, because I watched my mom get labeled a drug seeker and consequently mistreated at the ER years ago. If you figure out the trick, please let me know!andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14065770245427242700noreply@blogger.com
